Vaccination of pregnant women against covid

Although pregnant women are less at risk of covid-19 than non-pregnant women of the same age, if they become infected, they have a higher risk of preterm birth and may have a more complicated course of the disease. 

The transmission of the disease from a pregnant woman to a child is relatively rare, but has been reported several times.

A new study published in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology suggested that covid vaccination is also safe for pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Although covid-19 vaccines have not been tested in pregnant and breastfeeding women in clinical trials, research on women vaccinated between December and March 2021 has shown that vaccination is safe and effective for them.

According to this study, the level of antibodies formed in the blood after vaccination was not affected in any way by the period of pregnancy in which pregnant women were vaccinated against covid.
