PRODUCT SUMMARY
Desirial is a cross-linked hyaluronic acid dermal filler product that has been developed specifically for the treatment of female vulvo-vaginal conditions such as vaginal atrophy.
Treatment with Desirial is also marketed as a "labial puff" or non-surgical lipoplasty, in which injectable materials are used to increase the volume of the labia majora.
It was launched in the UK in January 2014 and is manufactured and distributed by the French company Laboratoires VIVACY. This is the same company behind the Stylage range of dermal fillers used for facial rejuvenation and volumisation.

Which contains
Desirial contains cross-linked hyaluronic acid that is made using IPN-like® (Interpenetrated Network) technology, Vivacy has created something that has two structures - monophasic structure A and B and an IPN-like structure. The two structures are mechanically independent, so Desirial is easy to inject and has a long life thanks to the increased density of its cross-linked nodes. This method requires less BDDE (a common compound used in cross-linking hyaluronic acids), which the company says is more effective and results in a safer, longer-lasting product.
Desirial has also been combined with the antioxidant mannitol, which occurs naturally in celery, olives and raspberries and is used to reduce the side effects of hyaluronic acid injections, namely redness and swelling. When the needle is inserted into the skin, it creates a free radical reaction that can cause a harmful reaction in the hyaluronic gel. The presence of mannitol, a "free radical scavenger", limits the effects of free radicals on the injected product, reducing the risk of post-injection inflammation and preventing the relatively rapid breakdown of the hyaluronic acid gels structure in the body, so they last longer.
What is it used for?
S pribúdajúcim vekom ženy, podobne ako mnohé iné časti tela, strácajú veľké pysky (vonkajšie záhyby alebo pysky obklopujúce pošvu) svoju mladistvosť a môžu byť ochabnuté a trochu vyprázdnené v dôsledku straty objemu tkaniva. Zmeny v tejto oblasti sa môžu znásobiť pôrodom a menopauzou, čo vedie ku kozmetickým aj funkčným problémom ženy.
Podľa Laboratoires Vivacy až 80 % žien vstupujúcich do menopauzy trpí suchosťou pošvy a približne 50 % žien po ukončení menopauzy naďalej pociťuje suchosť pošvy.
Počas menopauzy dochádza k zníženiu vylučovania estrogénov, čo má vplyv na fibroblasty, stavebné kamene nových kožných buniek, a to vedie k postupnej strate pružnosti a plnosti v oblasti veľkých pyskov. Vaginálna sliznica, červenšia oblasť kože, ktorá je za normálnych okolností chránená veľkými pyskami, sa stáva suchou; spojivové tkanivo je menej prekrvené, menej hydratované a stenčuje sa. Žľazové bunky dostávajú menej výživy, čo spôsobuje, že chradnú a začínajú zle fungovať. V dôsledku toho sa vo vaginálnej oblasti objavuje suchosť kože, strata pružnosti, ochabnutosť a krehkosť.
Desirial možno použiť na omladenie veľkých pyskov, zakrytie malých pyskov pre symetrickejší a proporcionálnejší vzhľad a zlepšenie suchosti.
Vo všeobecnosti sa ošetrenie vykonáva spolu s aplikáciou lokálneho anestetického krému, aby sa predišlo nepríjemným pocitom.
