What to do if the baby is down his ass?

 

   About 3% of children are still turned upside down at the end of pregnancy. This location is completely natural, but less favorable for childbirth. IN  If your baby still has not turned after the 36th week of pregnancy, you have the opportunity to turn the fetus with external touches at the Trenčín University Hospital. The purpose of the turn is to turn the fetus to a more favorable position with the head.

 

 

When is fetal turnover appropriate?
  • single-fetal pregnancy

  • pregnancy lasting more than 36 weeks

 

 

 

When can't the turn be made?
  • multiple pregnancies

  • fetal growth restriction (lagging behind  grow)

  • low placenta (so-called placenta praevia)

  • congenital uterine defects

 

 
Where is the turnover made? Do I have to be hospitalized?

   Fetal turnover is performed in the delivery room of the Trenčín University Hospital by an experienced doctor after verification of the position using ultrasound and  after checking the baby with a cardiotocograph. Subsequently, according to your preferences, you can go home or stay hospitalized for observation until the next morning.

 

What are the risks of turnover?

   Complications are very rare, occurring in less than 0.5% of cases. It's mainly about  amniotic fluid outflow, onset of contractile activity or premature placental abruption.
